Name: Huojin Li
Nickname: Jin, but he just prefers Huojin
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Clique: Homosexual (But he would prefer being called a rebel or even a foreigner, heck, he'd even take goth or raver, but homosexual is the most prevalent.)
Appearance:
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 136
Huojin has a very slender body type. He doesn’t have much muscle mass, either. His legs are quite long. His hair is typically spiked up. It’s normally dyed red from its natural black because he despised the ‘dull black hair’ he has. He used to have his hair a blonde color, but quickly got bored with it. He also likes hats when he hasn’t had time to mess with his hair. His eyes are a dark blue and slanted like his mother’s. His face shape is round when viewed from the front and flat when viewed from the side. His nose is small and flat. His lips are small, but full. He has five piercings in his right ear. He enjoys dressing up in crazy clothes on occasion when he's not in school. Sometimes he just wears jeans and a t-shirt; while other times it can be feather boas, leather pants, platform boots, and a tight vinyl shirt. He tries to wear as much black as the school uniform allows.
Personality: Huojin has a very bad temper. He doesn’t have a short fuse at all, but once it’s lit, he can be very vengeful and violent. Most of the time he just ignores the things that annoy him, but if he gets too annoyed, then BAM! He’s also very aloof and distant sometimes, but you can get on subjects that force him to voice his opinion. He stands up for himself and can be brutal when it comes to insults, but not so much when it comes to physical fights. Very different from his flamboyant clothes, he’s a wallflower and won’t talk to anyone unless they say something to him first.
Family: Su Li (Mother), Henry Foster (Father), Grandmother: Xia Tang, Grandfather: Ru Li
History: Huojin Li was born to a poor couple in Guanzhou, China. His mother was Su Li and his father was Henry Foster. Su left Henry right after the birth of Huojin. She was angry with Henry’s outlook on women; he said their place was in the kitchen.
She moved to Shanghai and raised Huojin there, teaching him both English and Chinese, since she could speak both fluently as her husband had been American. When he turned thirteen, however, she got a job in California as a translating editor for a newspaper for the Chinese community. They moved to the US, though Huojin still wrote to the one or two friends he had left behind. He had never been a social butterfly. He came to the US and actually started opening up about his sexuality, which he had been afraid to do back in China. He also learned not to care what others thought and toughened up a bit, so he could stand up for himself if anyone ever decided to pick on him. He dated once or twice, but it never worked out.
After three years, his mother got tired of the city life. She started searching for a more quiet area in the States and fell in love with Tennessee. She found a job at a university teaching Chinese and moved to Ooltewah, Tennessee. As soon as he arrived, he began vandalizing buildings and playgrounds in protest. He wanted to go back to California where at least he had friends. He was caught by the police and resisted arrest. They finally caught him and beat him down, taking him back to the station with a broken hip. His mother was furious with him, and the police station offered to pay for a portion of the medical bill to fix his hip. He was only fined and went into surgery the next day.
She looked for a school for her son and chose Creedence Valley for him. She had earned quite a bit of money from the job in California and had a nice salary in her new job, so she could easily afford it. Huojin really didn’t want to go, but he didn't want to fight with his mother after what happened when they first moved there, so he obeyed. He now walks with a miniscule limp (his hip bone is slightly out of line with the other side) and his mother inspects his room often, looking for spray paint, stink bombs, and the like. So he has to find different ways to hide his 'magazines'. (Yes. Those kind of magazines.) He's not ready to come out of the closet to his mother yet.
Others: Huojin likes writing short stories, boys, and explosives. He hates being labeled, sports (because he can’t do them), and mono-linguists. He also gets annoyed by happy people, friendly people, nice people, and stupid people. Most people annoy him, actually. Normally he writes in his free time or surfs the internet. He'll go to gay bars at night, half looking for a hot date, half just wanting to be around people who are more like him. He has an pretty decent singing voice, but doesn't use it.
