Sitting at a two seated, metal round table, Devi Valmont had her legs crossed and her skirt pulled under her, as a book lay open on the table. She was suppost to be reading it for English, but instead so had a little stereo, with tiny speakers sitting beside her on the table, playing Jesse McCartney's new hit. Smiling softly, she looked back at the book. Still only on page five, she huffed to herself.
For some reason, Devi couldn't get herself involved in the book. She loved to read, but this book was just... boring to her. Who wants to read 'To Kill a Mockingbird', it was stupid if you asked her, not a single bit of excitement or romance in her point of view. Sighing, she closed the book, and layed her head on the table.
Devi had to finish this book by next monday, if she didn't she would fail Englih for the next nine weeks and she didn't want that to happen. Sighing once again, she stared at the book, thinking thoughtlessly. |

As Jake walk down the main hallway he looked out the window to the courtyard, it was a pretty sunny day and all the flowers in the courtyard put a sweet smell in the air, as he was looking he saw one of His best friend, he walked out of the school and into the courtyard with his AP History book in his hand, he walks up to the table and sit across from Devi, " I see your trying to read that book again, What's so hard about it, I read it for fun years ago." |

Ashley walked into the courtyard and walked to the two talking to eachother and Devi, Now at the table she waved, her fingers touching her palm. She put her left hand on her white shirt, a red ripped heart on one side, a black one on the other corner wich printed in cursive "Heart broken". On her legs she wore a small denim skirt and black strapped sandals. "Dev..Your still on that?" Ashley asked taking her headphones of her I-pod out

Devi smiled, as she heard a formaller voice. Looking up she saw Jake. "Hey" she smiled once again. "Whats so hard about it... It is boring thats the problem" Devi huffed, turning off her music, to talk to Jake. "Most books i read i can lose myself in, but this book, i can't just seem to get interested in at all." She finished talking, with a sigh, she opened the book up once more to page five. "I have been on the same page for a week now. I just can't seem to pull myself into it" she told him again.

"Realy? Thats like me and History, I love it but this book, UGH" Ashley groaned and put her hand on her dirty blonde hair. She looked at her feet and tried to remember the title "Also Science, The frog prodject..Wow" She said gagging

Jake looked up at the sun "Did you know looking at the sun is bad for your eyes, When I look at the sun all I see is blue and white then I see purple and anyway" Jake looks at Devi and Ashely "What lucky guy is taking you Too to Homecoming?" Jake wanted to know beacause he was wonder who is still on the market. |

Devi smiled softly as she looked up towards the sun. "I see white" she told him, looking back down at her book, flipping finally onto page six. "Oh, I've been so busy getting stuff together for the dance, I've not yet decided on a date" she told Jake. Though she had her mind on someone, but of course she wouldn't speak of a name or anything, incase of the chance or ruining her luck by letting the cat out of the bag.

"Dance? Oh..Nobody, I guess im too shy to ask them and they're too shy to ask me" Ashley sighed and looked at the sun "I see...The sun and then a big purple circle..But yeah, I hate shy people! Maybe not literaly but Uggh! Im seriously waiting for the perfect guy" Ashley said rubbing her eyes

Devi let out a yawn. "Oh fuck it" she scuffed, slamming closed her book and laying her head down on top of it. Tucking her hair behind her ear, she sighed, turning back on her stereo and standing up, stretching her arms above her head, then side to side. Finally with one good jerk, Devi cracked her back.

"Well I'm cute, smart, funny, and I don't think I'm all that!" Jake wonder if she would get what he was saying, then he turned and look at Devi who was still trying to read that book. Did she even hear them? |

"Dude, Jake why don't you just come out and say it. Ashley, he wants you to go to the dance with him, possible be boyfriend girlfriend. Geez that was hard" She huffed witha scould, standing up from the table. Picking up her book and stereo. "Bye" she stampered off, to leave the two 'love birds' alone, seeing that her 'studying' was being interrupted by it.
